Welcome to the Michigan High School Rodeo Association website. My name is Kayla Keller and I am excited to be serving as the 2008-2009 MHSRA Rodeo Queen. I am a 15 year old sophomore at Huron High School in New Boston. This is my third year in the senior division and I competed one year in the junior division. I compete in Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Barrel Racing and Pole Bending. I had a wonderful experience competing out in New Mexico at the National High School Finals this past summer. I met so many wonderful people and made friends I will never forget. It was a warm long week, but it was all worth it. Michigan High School Rodeo Association is an amazing group to be a part of. You can meet many new friends and learn so much along the way. We offer several events for boys and girls such as breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, pole bending and of course bull riding. In the Wrangler division for junior high age kids with offer most of the same events and add chute dogging and ribbon roping also. We host several rodeos throughout the year that culminates at our state finals in early June in Ovid, Michigan. Members will be competing for the top 4 spots in each event to be eligible for the National Finals. In Michigan High School Rodeo Association you become part of a family you wouldn't have anywhere else. I hope you are interested in joining and will contact us for more information. |
