State Law Regarding Coggins Papers
Remember all horses taken off of your property must have negative coggins papers. This is a state law and you must be able to produce these papers when asked for them.

Grand Entry Rule
The Grand Entry is mandatory for all contestants unless you have an excuse from the arena director prior to the Rodeo.

Proper Dress Code
You must be in complete Western Dress Attire one hour before and one hour after the Rodeo (this means during slack also.) No crop tops, no tank tops, no T-shirts, and no tennis shoes during these times. You must be in jeans, long sleeve shirts, boots, and cowboy hats and your back number must be on your back during this period. Members caught not complying with this rule can be DISQUALIFIED from the rodeo! If you have any questions regarding this rule, please consult your rule book or ask any of the officers, directors or your event director.

Hat Rule
The student directors adopted the policy of a fine for losing your hat in the arena. Any contestant other than rough stock riders, calf ropers and steer wrestlers will be fined a $10.00 fee for each time you lose your hat in the arena. Wranglers $5.00 for each time you lose your hat in the arena. This fine must be paid before you will be able to compete at another rodeo. Student Officers will be responsible for maintaining this rule and collecting the fines.

Out of State Rodeo Points
When you go to Out of State Rodeo's you bring back the points you actually win. (Example: If you place 4th at the rodeo and are the highest place from MI, you will still only bring back 4th place points to Michigan.

$$$$$
Remember that if you get a new Rough Stock rider to join, after they compete in three rodeo's and State Finals, you will receive $100.00 back from the MHSRA for each one. This is a great way to make money for your entries and/or going to Nationals.
